    Smile My Father's "Valencias"

I have recently acquired what I think were "Valencia" speakers built by my father probably about 30 years ago. They contain 806-8A high frequency drivers with 811B horns, N801-8A crossovers, and one W416-8A 15 " woofer and one off brand woofer. I have not yet tried any of the components, but I think at least the woofer needs to be rebuilt, and I probably need to purchase one woofer. I am an accomplished woodworker and can make the speakers look good cosmetically, but would like advice on how to proceed with restoration otherwise. I'm sure the crossovers need new caps, and I would like to at least replace the wiring terminals with more up to date connectors.

    Any suggestions?
    thanks

If you are gonna recone the one real woof- buy a blown one, send both in to GPA. They will match. Otherwise one old cone and one new cone. In a pinch a 418 frame will do.

Might want to off the original xovers and get a newer set with separate mid/high.
Your neighbors called. They like your music.

Or if you want new ones.. GPA has some brand new woofers and then you can sell the original on eBay.
