    Talking Weird looking 902's

Altec Lansing 902 8B and Altec MR931 12 Drivers and Horns Pair 2 Mantaray | eBay

Look more like Coral to me.

The more I look at them they MIGHT be older 802 series with home made wooden back covers?

    Re: Weird looking 902's

yeah i saw those. what the heck are they? 806 with some kind of aftermarket cover?

On Apr-24-13 at 12:14:53 PDT, seller added the following information:

I am getting some questions to whether these are 902 drivers or not. The sticker that is on them says 902 so...I was told they could be 802. In saying all this I know am not sure what model they are. If someone out there knows for sure please let me know. Thank you

Mag too deep for 806. 802 or 808, covers look wood and home made.

    Re: Weird looking 902's

I've seen Japan spec 604-8KS ? with this style rear cover. Not sure why they would want a larger rear chamber unless it's to add more damping material, though FWIW, I had some pleasing results from replacing the rear cover of a pair of 802/8 ohm with a damped TL.

edit: Didn't see the latest picture, so now I'm wondering if the 604s I saw had 'factory' rear covers.
