I've got an excellent pair of 604Es, however I noticed that the HF diaphrams are differnt from one another. The alum dome & suspension is the same, but one has a slightly larger plastic mounting ring+solder on tabs and the smaller one has screw on terminals.

Which is the correct one for the 604E?

    Datubie,
The slightly smaller diameter mounting ring with screw on connectors belongs to the early type of diaphragm - pre-1983. This is probably the original diaphragm/VC assembly that came with your 604E. The other type is a later direct replacement that requires different lead teminations that either push or solder on. I use push on terminations when converting.
    Jeff
