I just had Satellite internet installed.
Once again I had to change my email address with all my contacts and at the few forums I visit.
Changed it here with ZERO problems!
Went to the LH site and changed it there.
Part of the process is they send you a confirmation email to the new addy and I click on a link to complete.
I never get that email!
Wildblue says they don't block anything.
I did not change settings, just my ISP and email address.
When I go to the LH site, it shows that I am logged in but do not have permission to post. WTF?
If I go to the userCP, It shows my new address! If I don't get the confirmation email I can't complete the process.
I am lost!

Gary, The first thing that comes to mind is that your change might have to be approved by a moderator/administrator before you receive the comfirmation email and that can take a while sometimes. It may well just be a time factor.
Sorry i can't be of more help.

Guess we know the answer to that! There is something blocking emails either sent to or received by me.
I got your reply lightning fast so its not with the sending or receiving on personal emails.
Still can't figure it out.
Either LH is having a problem or Wild blue is blocking my $hit from comming thru.
This really has me POed.

Hi Gary,
My guess ? ( & that is all it is at this time )
- You may be in a situation where you're being treated as a brand new member who has no posting previledges ( until a probationary period elapses ). This might be new policy to ward off spammers or "fly-by" one-offs for equipment appraisals ( destined for eBay ).
- This may be the "new normal" when a new ISP ( or email address ) gets registered .
- There have been a couple of updates to the Forums' software. One of these may have snared you because of your recent changes to your ISP & email addy.
- PM Scottyj here , he checks in here from time to time.
- Because he's a moderator at LHF, he would be able to see if there's anything to any of my guesses .
- I'll check back later today ( or tomorrow ) to see if you've made any headway on the matter .

Hi Gary,
- I just looked at your User Profile over at LHF.
- You've registered twice / with each, showing a slight variation of your chosen moniker.
- LHF doesn't allow multiple registrations .
- You're going to have to contact an Admistrator over there to clear this up.

Thanks for your diligence Earl!
I will bet in the past week I have tried to get connected 10 times.
Oddly, I can go there right now, change my addy back to the old dial up, get the confirmation email, click and be in!
I just can't do it with the new email @wildblue.net.
I am not a computer wizzard by any streatch but something is adding a hitch to my giddy-up with the new email server or there is some dumb setting I have no idea how to locate.
Believe me, I have changed back and forth many times in the past week. If I go back to dial up, I get a confirmation email immediately and can be back in business. When I go to the new @wildblue.net addy, I never get the confirmation email so can't get back my privileges.
This really ***** !!!

Gary,
- Over at LHF, reset your settings to receive PMs with email notification ( right now you have it set to receive nothing )
- Also , setup to receive general emails .
- I'll send one of each type / then we can see if the front end of LHF spits out the email notification and also if it allows a regular email to go through .
- Frankly, it sounds to me like "WildBlue" has an over active spam filter on your account .

I can't Earl!
When I go to LH it shows me logged in as Gary L and if I click on user CP I see my new @wildblue addy.
If I click on any other function I get "You don't have permission"
I can't change any settings nor have I! I only changed my email address and never received the confirmation link to follow to complete the process.
Very strange and well beyond my computer understandings.
I really do appreciate your assistance here but can't find the right click to resolve this problem.
Wild blue says it is not on their end and I have dropped emails to LH in the contact Us arena and get no response.
Still lost!

YOU ARE THE MAN, EARL K!!!!!
I have no idea what you had to do or if you had to shoot anyone but I am back and able to post on the LH site.
I have this same problem at two of my woodworking forums so if you could send me a PM as to how to resolve this I will be forever in your debt!
I think I knew there was some hitch but still don't have a clue where it is.
Thank you very kindly!
Gary
