OT: So, You Wanna Build a Street Car?

Didn't wanna derail the horn thread with another off topic reply.

If i ever do another street car, i will hire everything done and sell my tools.

Tom Nelson will be my go to guy. While he is not a brand specific guy, he does seem to really go over the top with Chevrolets and Hemis.

    Hemi fans:

Small block Chevy fans, check out George, the owner at the end:

    Big block Chevy fans:

Hostboard will only let me post 3 videos. Gotta post the mustang and Shelby vids for Old Guy as links.

This is perhaps the BEST sounding car i have ever heard, it's just freekin music to my ears. Steve McQueen would approve! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHSEO7-AnmM Note the emphasis on the "tunnel sound" for Klipsch fans.

    The Hemi powered Maximus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHmx6KvL69U

Awesome '63 Tempest, be sure you check out Butch, the young man that owns it at the end of the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buMByur4iyo

Re: OT: So, You Wanna Build a Street Car?

New and modern is sure neat, but I don't want to spend as much as my house cost to go fast. I also love the underdog. This is what I need in my 1800 only with stock intake and exhaust manifolds and two stock Mitsubishi TD04 13C Volvo turbos mounted in the trunk. 300+ whp in a 2600lb car is enough to scare the crap out of me.

Wanna go fast on a budget?

There's a fella not too far from me that runs 8 seconds in a 13b powered Mazda.

1000+hp from an engine i can lift out of it's mounts with only my hands and no hoist.

Now that is something I would like to see ! No matter how small it is, still should be a couple hundred pounds...

Here's a vid that will give you a good idea of the size of the base 13B engine minus the externals, remember, it's half aluminum.

i was going to mention the maxda 13b last night. talk about unlimited torque. get over 8000 rpm and those things take off. i almost bought one. but i already had a dart 340 sport. i was getting 15 mpg with that. as opposed to 8 with the mazda.

Looks to me like they need to lash two of those things together and make a quad rotor 26bb.

They put one in a sea-doo, it goes 130mph

Go with the GE T58 gas turbine in the hydroplane. In stock trim for the Bell UH-1(Huey) it weighs in at 315lbs and will make 1250 HP all day long, or until the fuel is gone.

my NOR-TECH buddies put pairs of them in 50' cats 200+ someone along the way figured out that if you squirt a little water in the intake it acts a lot like nitrous. but for short bursts only.
