Looks like pulled from an old console. Not an Altec for sure, but might have been part of a set that had something Altec in it. Or a "friend' told him it was Altec. So called knowledgeable friends can be dangerous.

fixed it, the brackets were altered. don't know how? it worked ok yesterday.
