One is working and and the other needs a recone. I would be on these if I didn't just buy another 604G

One is double vented.
You'd end up with a mismatched pair unless you reconed both.

I thought many of them had that hole and it was just capped. I have not seen a rear vented 515. I'm very curious if there is a cap under that other label
And yes for best results they should both be reconed

So whats the word on those 425 drivers? Are they good for HiFi or are they more for MI like the 417?

Re: Altec 515C pair for 400 BIN
never heard of a 425 till I saw the listing. i'm not sure what they're like. but they are unique. anyone else have a clue?
I am looking at a pair of 3127s. I have what I think might be one. it came out of a 937. (also came with a crossover and a 902/mr931-12), I got for 16$. but it has a frame like an EV. sort of like the 3182

I think bowtie said he has a few 3127. I'm sure he will chime in on those.
They seem to still be pretty reasonable in price. I wonder how they sound compared to a ferrite 414. They look like just a newer version
