    Altec Lansing 7120A Power Amplifier

    So there's 2 of these available on ebay at the moment from the same seller. Might be a nice deal for someone.

    I'm not interested as I don't want fan noise... but the dearth of info (presuming the HB search is working) on them piques casual curiosity.

    Where do they fall in the pantheon of favored altecs?

    Cosmetically - looks a but unique compared to what we usually see. Is it an E.V. design like the 9441A?

    I think you have it backwards- the EV amps are rebadged Altecs. This is true at least of the 9400 series.

    That said, not sure about that 7120. It is an odd duck. The Mark IV Audio period was a bit weird. Engineers floated between companies to the point where it got hard to say where the design originated. Looking at the schematics I don't see anything to recommend the 7120A. I would stick to the older Altecs.
