    Altec 19: The Remix

Searched the AUB with no results and can't open the driver zip file; Google doesn't return any English site[s] and only found the co-ax is Faitalpro: https://www.audioreview.it/tecnica/d...the-remix.html

interesting on how he did the port, where it exits out thew bottom and the stands are are of the "flare".....

I am betting it would sound different if it was placed on top of carpet vs. a solid floor.

Right, it would be more rolled off, tuned lower, though how much of course would depend on carpet type/thickness, underlayment. etc. [if any].

    Re: Altec 19: The Remix

I've built two Model 19's and followed the original published drawings with some minor exceptions. Question would adding in all the additional bracing cause additional problems based on less internal volume of the cabinets? Would it need to be ported a little different. I like some of the additional bracing but wonder if it's a little "overkill" and changes the sound of the original design.

Correct, bass will roll off a little sooner, tuning will be slightly higher and its presentation will be a little 'tighter'/'dryer', i.e. it will lose a little of its signature 'West Coast Sound' that Altec, JBL were/are famous for, so don't recommend it if planning to eventually sell.
