Scored some PAS speakers... over a year the project is done.

I saw these locally and a good old Altec 604 came to mind. I purchased them for less than what the wood probably cost for the cabinets. They are SUPER heavy cabinets by the way. I made some wire jumpers, hooked them up and will be doing some listening tonight but from the little that have already heard they are REALLY nice. Nice enough I will be opening the cabinets up tomorrow and seeing what's inside and might build some crossovers for them to hopefully really get them singing (though they sound pretty great as is). There isn't much information for these particular models though and I would love to get some specs on this actual speaker. I know they are very efficient and I am using 300B amps that were built specifically to pair with Altecs and they sound great so I am guessing they have to be somewhere in the 99-100dbi efficiency from the sound levels I am getting from them.
I have read that in the 1980s, Professional Audio Systems (PAS), using Time Alignment technology from Ed Long, sold the popular SW series of compact stage wedges, offered with a 12- or 15-inch woofer, (these are 15") and having a projecting high-frequency horn as in the 604 but that is about all the information I could find that seemed legitimate. The seller said these had been in his church for years.

There is a discussion about those on AK right now. I?ve had a single for a while and just got a mate for it. Pop them out and see what HF drivers you have.

So yours came setup for biamp or they have crossovers with them?

Legend has it that when 604G's no longer met their QC standards, Urei used them in their 8XX series of monitors.

Just curious what you are doing for crossovers for these drivers? I’d like to build some passive xovers for mine.
I’ve heard the xover freq is between 1.2khz and 1.5khz depending on what HF driver is used. Possible options might include

    Markwart 604 xover
    M19 xover
    Urei 811 xover

    Any other ideas or thoughts?

Also if you have a chance, can you measure the outside dimensions of your cabs including the port size pls?

    PAS was a funny company.
To be generous, let's call them a "second tier" manufacturer.

They made some really decent products, but they didn't have the marketing or dealer base.

They also made some absolute garbage.

Last I heard the Chinese bought them. Not sure where they are now.
They were bought by PHD Pro Audio in China. I think some patents were sold off to Radian, or at least some folks on the internet do. PHD appears to no longer using the PAS name.
Your neighbors called. They like your music.

All done finally. I had these drivers in my office for most of 2020. They now are in custom cabinets and I took the chance on them with custom crossovers as well. I am very happy I did. They sound amazing!
