    You didn't misunderstand, you're correct.

I might know of a pair of 808A drivers that need diaphragms. I'll check. The 808 is the same body as an 802. Great Plains Audio can put in new diaphragms.

Amp wise I have a bunch of stuff, I'm sure so do others here. We can keep exploring options.

I tend to have multiples of the same amps. Ill try and look thru what I have. There is a marketplace here where you can post your wants also.
Here's an example of a used electronic crossover.

    dbx 223XL Stereo 2-Way / Mono 3-Way Crossover | Reverb

This is the one I would buy if I were looking.
Ashly XR22/12 Electronic Crossover | eBay

Basically inputs, outputs to the amps, and set the knobs. You can adjust the crossover frequency and horn level. Not hard, may look overwhelming but pretty easy really.
Yes, horns should be delivered early may.

Thanks for checking on a path for some drivers. I live in OKC, so GPA is local.

I've since read some on the dbx, they seem pretty capable. I'll check into the Ashly units, I've heard of these before but have no knowledge.
Thanks a lot for seeing what amps you might be redundant on, very nice of you to do so.

It's been a long work week and my late night researching has been scaled back because of it, using my day off tiday fir a full recharge!

Old guy, any issue running pro gear with my Mac 1900 as the pre?
Thanks again, enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Think I'm going to turn the 1900 on and listen the evening away on some much smaller Altec speakers, the 890c Bolero.

    Have a good one,
    -Brandon

Should not be any issues. Just need proper wiring.
Looking like in larger amps I have 2x Altec 9444b. Mid grade units. Far from the worst. There are better but for more money. I could do those at a good price- like $150 for both.
I have only one crown XLS402 300@8 ohms 450@ 4 ohms. Might work for lows with one of the D75 for highs.
I would want to put anything on the bench before shipping. I'm 70 ish and still work full time so that would take at least a couple days.

That's just what I found in 5 minutes or so. I know there's at least one Carver and a few QSC. Probably Saturday before I can do a real search. There are a couple of small pallet racks of audio stuff. I are a packrat.

Old guy, thanks for getty back to me. I'm in no hurry and am interested in hearing what else you might come up with, if you don't mind digging.

Do you recommend using like amps if I want to run the HF on one amp and the LF on another?
Appreciate all your help, only 50 but understand working for a living.

They don't need to be alike. I do tend to like them to be the same brand. There is often a 10 dB difference in efficiency between lows and highs, so the HF amp can be smaller.

I have a pair of AB Systems 710 biamplifiers that are 500 on the LF and 100 on the highs. Not for sale, just illustrating.

Was walking by that shelf and shot these with my phone. Maybe I should invite everybody to a garage sale. I'm getting old, been years since I touched some of this stuff. Some of the pics you need to click to open up. The plywood is birch, I bought as cut offs from a local mill. I have more than a lifetime supply. Just under 2 ft x 4 ft.

So, you're saying that you'll accept plywood scraps for trade? That's awesome! Lol

Are the Altec 9444B pretty quiet? I think I might like those. Thanks again, old guy!

9444bs are quiet, as long as they're in another room.
I'm pretty sure the fan runs continually.

I can understand that. I guess once the music is playing it's probably ok...?

LOL. I have not looked at the 9440 fans. I know you can buy speed controls for fans, might be able to slow them down. Not like you will be running at full power.
Same will likely be true of any amp with fans. Which is most nowadays.

Paid cash for the birch. It's around 70 a sheet here. I bought quarter sheets for 5 bucks.

Actually according to Altec the fans are two speed thermostatically controlled.

I suspect that means "Runs on low, kicks to high when warm. There are ways to deal with fans.

These are from a music studio in a local university. One of my guys put them in. I didn't see howthey used them.
