Wooden horn Jon Anderson 9844 verticals!

This is an amazing project that is almost done except for some fine tuning by my dear friend Jon Anderson. More to come......

A flattering likeness of the 1950's/60's Frazier 800hz laminated plywood radial horn.

They also made a 500hz version.

These look gorgeous Charles. One of the biggest regrets of my hifi/Alltec journey was giving up my vertical'd 9844s a few years ago. I wonder where they are now.... enjoy in good health. I'll make another pair some day.

Loud is Beautiful if it's Clean! As always though, the usual disclaimers apply to this post's contents.

    I remember your project well.

Sad to hear that you had to move them along.

Remember, we're really only temporary caretakers of the good stuff.

So true! And there's satisfaction in that too. It gets even more fun when you finally accept it's more about the journey than the destination. I moved on to 604s, Model 19s...on large format horns at the moment. I will say, there's nothing quite like the sound of dual 414s. It's definitely a format I will revisit one day. And no way that could have happened without your help!

Is there any more information you could share about the design or fabrication of the horns?
