    Just Wondering:::

    Is the end cover used with Altec compression drivers required [assuming that the driver has the plastic cap.] I am sure the end cover is for mechanical protection of the plastic cap and diaphram assemble.

    Lynn,
    I don't think the rear cover is an acoustic necessity if you are using a loading cap over the diaphragm. The rear cover provides protection, as you noted, but I think it might be just as important to use the binding posts on the cover to provide strain relief for the diaphragm connections.
