Hi all, I recently put an Altec Biflex 415C in my design "Golden Ratio" version of a 612C cabinet I used to have a 604E with ML XO in.

I've been high-passing various tweeters to at ~8500 kHz with a Solen cap. I am currently using an old A/R silk dome mounted by taught fishing lines from the woofer mounting screws to the tweeter mounting holes right in front of the dustcap.

All I can do is smile! I prefer it to the 604E with Mastering Labs crossover. Seems just as dynamic, that unmistakeable Altec bottom and mids, without the unmistakable Altec co-axial horn nasal sound.

I'm driving them in a pseudo bi-amping scheme, that is, an integrated stereo gainclone (RCA SA-155) in mono mode with the woofer driven by the right channel, the tweeter by the left. I adjust tweeter volume with the balance control.

It's a hoot forums
