    Removing 604s

I have my GPA drivers in big 10 cu. ft. finished ply cabs, and want to pull them out to transport the cabs.

Last time I had them out was to rotate the drivers about 5 or so years ago, and the gasket on the back of the basket stuck to the cabs pretty hard, and it required quite a bit of force to remove them. A more than slightly uncomfortable amount of force.

Any handy tricks for doing this?

When encountering an issue like that, I generally use an artist spatula I got some time ago. Very thin bladed spring steel that you can slip under the gasket and loosen it a bit. Generally when one section of the gasket becomes free, the rest lifts pretty easily.

Available pretty inexpensively at an art supply store or on eBay, and a useful tool to have around in general.

12 inch or smaller pry bar. Preferably with something underneath it so you don't dent the cabinet.

My wife is a pastry chef, so I can try one of her small pallet knives.

Small fishing line IME, wrap it around the joint and pull/'saw'/'slice' it off.

I see flying sheet metal is already a hazard.

Hope all goes well, and you're under secure cover.

Give us a report when power and internet come back up.

I'm up in Ocala right now but Mom is in Ft Myers. She says it's windy but not out of the ordinary. You have to take the sensational media with a grain of salt.
You can be 5-10 miles out of the eyewall and the wind gusts drop to 30 to 50 with intermittent rain.
So pretty much like an extended version of our daily summer monsoons. With a giant tornado in the to center.

    Thanks bowtie

Called my mom, she still has electric and obviously phone . They had a pine limb down. The center of the eye passed 30 miles away, the eye wall 15. the reports of 150 miles an hour must be wildly exaggerated.

whats left is now on the way up the up to Ocala where I'm moving to.

    Re: Removing 604s

Most of the damage was in the coastal areas and barrier islands with storm surge the higher windspeeds. And people building where they never should be building in the first place. Plus a lot traditional building wisdom and common sense has been lost. like stilt homes in flood prone coastal areas, not developing swamplands or low lands prone to sheet flows. The vegetation tells you what it is.
Well, as a whole we made out pretty damn good. We lost a lot of vegetation like we always do, a good bit of buildiñg damage nothing that can't be fixed. But so far I haven't heard of a lot of casualties.
If this sort of thing happened somewhere else, there
would be hundreds dead and injured all over the news.
