I tried the palette knife, and a small pry bar over Black Friday to no avail. I was being very conservative as I did not want to damage the cabs or the spider gaskets.

What I ended up doing is taking the backs off the cabs (which I had to do anyway for another reason) and laying them down with the driver magnet resting on a 2x4 and ply platform I made that was about 1/2" higher than the distance from the rear of the magnet to the back of the cabs. The weight of the 10 ft3 cabinet popped them off in half a min or so.

No muss no fuss.
