    32c/802 build

Hi - I am considering a build around 32C horns with 802-8g drivers and am looking for input on a couple ideas for use with single ended amps.

One option would be using 414-8b woofers in a Shindo Petite Latour clone (or similar). They are 183 liters net - height 120 cm x width 45 cm x depth 45 cm with a bottom port. Upside of this is midrange performance, but downside is lack of extended bass.

The other ideas would be a 9849 build, but that would wholly depend on finding a good quality 411-8a pair for a reasonable price.

    Or an A8 build.

I currently really like my GPA 604-III in 10 ft3 cabs.

    Thoughts?

9849-8B used a 414 woofer iirc. I have a pair with the bent horns. Should say I have the boxes, horns, crossovers but no drivers.

I don’t suppose you live in Oregon?

Pretty sure he meant 9846, given the 411 mention.

Keep in mind that 411's LF extension comes at the cost of lower sensitivity.

I guess I got my model number wires crossed.

No compression drivers for the horns?

I am from Seattle, but have lived in New Zealand for the past 18 years now. I have a NZ PO drop in Portland.

I gave the mint 414-8B’s to a buddy. Mistake.
I have one mint 414-8E, prob never find a mate.
So I put the HF drivers in my M19’s. Alnico, tangerine, like an 802-8G but slightly weaker magnet. Unique. Bowtie knows more about them than I do.

I noticed you were in NZ in another post. Too bad you aren’t close.

I have a pair of 9846-8A as well. Disassembled. Sadly no cones in the 411’s.

The 9849’s sounded quite good. I never got to hear the 9846, they were in sad shape.
