The only real differences between bodies is the magnet material, ALNICO or ferrite. The diaphragms are either Symbiotik or all aluminium.
Alum is 802, symb is 806. Or some variant of either.

Just got some Altec small format drivers, they look like 802 series, but of course no decals. Any way to tell?
Thanks...

You'll have to measure the height of the drivers, without the mounting studs or top cover.
Altec made different drivers with different sized magnets, so you'll have to measure them.
Measure the distance from the plate where the mounting studs are up to the plate where the cover screws on, and let us know. Then we can probably help you figure out which ones they are.

Looks to be 2 5/16", cap height is 1", 4 1/2" in diameter. Weight aroumd 7LBS. Based on cat.NO.AL-1477, they look to be 802D's. What do you think?

Oh yeah, that first measurement does not include the diaphragm height in there... That is just the body of the driver, from the front to the back where the cap would, mount.
