I dont really know if I could use them. Kinda limited on low end. even in tandem you need a lot of stacks to get any low lows.
Thats the longest ebay listing I've seen in a long time. mostly disclaimers.

I wonder if that frame/motor are the same dimensions as the older 416’s?

Someone here tried them in Tuba cabinets and said they worked well. In those cabs the resonance drops by about half due to the horn loading.

I found the thread, it was valhallax who tried them in Titan 48 bass horns and said they performed well. Here's the link: https://www.hostboard.com/forums/f700/264812-3156-8-ohm-woofers-80$-more-than-ten-available.html?highlight=3156

    Titan 48: Titan 48

Valhaalax and I had a conversation before he tried the 3156. The Qts is just below what Bill Fitzmaurice wants. They will be Xmax limited, but Altec was quite conservative when quoting xMax. But you are looking at a box that is 95 dB at one watt at 40 Hz. If you are talking home use they likely will be more than adequate.

for what its worth the 3156 pounds in this can ..tight no eobble or chuffing just pund, and i tried all the altec woofers i had from 421's to the recommended 3154's nbut the 3156 just works way bettereven beeting the ledgendary 515-8g, i had to auger out the cabs quite zbit to shoehorn that one in there as trhe motor structure is so immense thick and wide ,like my ex, but not when we met.. funny how that works
my first expeience wit this woofwr was in a 8156 box and that box rocks i was very impressed and as the3156 is so much chmy buddy put 2s a piece in 210 replicasi built year s ago and he put his subs away and plays full band through them, the kick drum is hammeringdouble bass drum metal band fast and thunderous
