Just got the pictures of the "Classic Series" Bill is making, and the 288H-series is one of them.

Hope to get the spec sheet done for it this week.

By the way - Arnold Magnetics really screwed Bill on the AlnicoV magnet pricing. They added a "cobalt upcharge" and a "nickel upcharge", to his invoice, effectively doubling his cost on the magnets!

This makes producing them VERY expensive - he may not make any more after this order of magnets is gone...

The commodity price rising has to do with the non-stop decline of the value of dollar in the international market.

The dollar is paying the price of 26 years of reckless, irresponsible political and economic policies of this Country.

    Where it stops, nobody knows.

Bill should just raise the price. The Europeans spending Euros will have no problem with the price increase.

In the last 6 mo., nickel's fallen ~$4/lb, and cobalt ~$6. Overall 5 yr rise though, before discounting the $. No wars in Canada or the DRC.

Every product that requires fuel for excavating, processing and transporting to the end user has to be reflecting increased fuel costs these days though, I guess that could turn up as a surcharge.

My finger points to global trade, more specifically, the energy it consumes...takes a lotta fuel for the trading nations to ship the gross export share of their GNP around the world.

We've been bent over by a couple of sharp Texas oil men. Probably gonna be walking funny for a long time. forums

Indeed, EAD, the Swedish company that recently bought out the British E.J. Jordan Speakers just announced they are switching pricing to the relatively stable EUR to cope with the fluctuating world currency and European DIYers are increasingly buying from USA mail order houses now that the exchange rate ~offsets the high shipping costs and in some cases even the VAT.

My mother grew up in Holdenville, Oklahoma, and knew the oil tycoon, who is now pushing wind power, personally.

She had a motto - "If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything at all."

    She never talked about him...

As aluminum, nickle, and cobalt are used in alnico magnets, is Bill considering dropping all alnico offerings?

Has Bill considered field coil drivers?

A weak US dollar certainly does not help in import
buying but this is offset by export selling. The US domestic Economy was always resilient and self regenerating but with the global economy in the picture. The federal reserve will have to take more variables into account in the future to avoid giant swings.
