    Romy,

Is it possible to remove the alum. threadded coupler on the front of the driver? I've loosened the 3 grun screws but couldn't get the thing to budge.

    Thanks

Sure, the ring with the S2 thread is removable. Besides the 3 top screws there is one more screw that with hexagonal that sits on the side, right among the threads. After you screw it you might remove the ring but it, because it is old might not go ease. Do not hit the ring, as you will sink the magnet. I usesly put the driver on floor and hold it with my knee. Then I take a shit a thin rubber and cover the threads. This provides very good traction for my hands and prevents sliperage. Then with the force of tow hands you should be able to move it on. Since you move it for 1 mm then the side-compiling of the ring with the mostly rusty body of the drive will be gone and the ring will be unscrewing very easyly. After you remove the ring do not forget to put the bug screens back
