    Hi All,

Have recently acquired some Vitavox AK151 drivers and was looking for some pointers on what kind of cabinets to use them in. I believe they're designed for horn loading?

    Any recommendations or designs/plans available?

    Cheers/
    Pete

The traditional Vitavox K horns or corner horns would be great. You will need to use a horns cabinet type.
Good luck, What is your plan for medium high frequencies.

Hello, thanks for the suggestion, not sure about the corner horns, because the cabinets will have to go against a wall, but about 6 feet from the side walls due to the layout of my room. (I guess I should've said that size is somewhat of an issue).

Do the Klipsch style boxes work ok away from corners?

For mid-high, at the moment I have some 1" Coral M-100 drivers with 340Hz Azura horns. I also have some Vitavox S2, but no horns to go with them yet.

    Thanks,
    Pete

You will need to construct a false wall along the side that isn't close to one.

Yikes! That's a bit extreme, I don't think I'm gonna be able to do that. Any idea if they'd work ok in some sort of folded horn?

    Cheers,
    Pete

It can be made out of wood and doesn't have to extend much past the sides of the speaker box itself. Although longer certainls helps in the bass.

I have used my ak151's in the vitavox k/horn,grand onken ,jensen imperial, tannoy york and jensen corner horns.Romy suggests a 50hz straight horn.
In domestic terms the grand onken is worth considering, the cabinet drawings are available on line.

Thanks for the info, how did the Grand Onken sound in relation to the others? Which none was your preference?

    Thanks,
    Pete
