    Hi,
I've been contacted by Geoff who is trying to track down the exact model number of a pair of 12" drivers he has (please see the pictures below). The drivers were originaly in an old musichall/cinema organ and the magents have at some stage been painted bronze. The magnets are 5 1/2" diameter and each driver weighs 8.5kg.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.
    Peter.

Judging by the vent holes on the back of the frame, I'd say these were Goodmans OEM.

The white foam and the ribbed cone, the outer suspension are all looking very similar to the Westrex 30928 that I have.
The magnet is different. On the Westrex the cone as a dome to protect againt dust and the magnet as a bell around it.
What make you think they are goodmans OEM?
I have a 12" goodmans and the chassis is different to this 12" vitavox.

    Very interesting.

    Regards,

It is similar to the Goodmans Axiom 80 series I have. The basket is similar, but my drivers have a magnet cover so I can't confirm if the magnet structure is similar. The cone is vastly different though.

    Hi,
I've just been very reliably informed that these are a pair of K12/20, which are a 20 Watt, 15 Ohm driver that was sold to the pro market for auditorium use.
    Best regards,
    Peter.

    Hi Romy,
Sorry, I missed this post for a while.
Thanks for the recomendation (Tossy Spivakovsky: Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, for anyone wondering), as you said, it is indeed quite an incredible performance.
The copy I got is a little too noisy but I suspect it will benefit from a good clean. When I remember to take it into work with me I'll give it a good going over with our machine.
Not that I can play it at the moment, my 'new' deck (Garrard 401 in a diy plinth with a Michell Tecnoarm A) is in pieces whilst I make another armboard and experiment with isolation. I'll try to detail a bit about this on the next site update (which really isn't that far away now - thanks for your patience everyone!).
    Best regards,
    Peter.

I thought it would be of interest to readers that Geoff has informed me that these drivers are now up for sale on Ebay. Anyone interested can find them here:
