    HI EVERY ONE!
I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING THE REQUIREMENT OF THREE HEATERS ,(ONE ON EVERY PHASE OF THE STARTER) FOR A MAGNETIC RELAY MOTOR STARTER, I HAVE FOUND THAT IN ONTARIO SOME EQUIPMENT I HAVE RUN ACROSS IS PROTECTED ONLY WITH TWO HEATER OVERLOADS,WITH THE MIDDLE ONE JUMPERD OUT. I KNOW THAT THE CANADIAN CODE REQUIRE THREE BUT AM INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT THE NORMAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ONTARIO, IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT.

    Lightbulb

In the late 1960s or early 70s The CEC requirement was changed from 2 heaters to 3.

What you may be seeing is some older equipment that was installed before the change.
