hi every one
I was wondering if a inspection is required when installing a burgular alarm?

Since I am in Saskatchewan, I can't answer that question unless you have an inspection permit number. It might be different where you are, but I can't tell you that unless you have a permit.
Here, you don't need a permit to use the bathroom, if you have a permit to use the bathroom without a permit, but it is only valid if an inspector is present.
However, if you aren't an electrician, you don't need a permit to wire an alarm; but, as I said, if you are an electrician, I can't say.
I'm not complaining, though. I don't have a permit for that.

Hit a nerve, I guess. I opened a ceiling tile and the cat 5 installer had left 30 foot loops on about 20 cables on top of a light. It started with one cable sliding out...
I need a permit to install alarms and data, but anyone else with a box of wire is an installer. What is the point of making our customers pay a permit fee when they can avoid the inspection by hiring someone else?
Yes, bigrockk, it was a bad day. Thanks for asking.

I hear ya TWH, **** like that is FRUSTRATING! That would be enough to make me want to grab my side cutters and just start chopping. I'm starting to get P.O'd just thinking about it!
