No neutral wire in switch box
Hello,
I want to connect a timer switch that has a requirement for neutral wire. The switch box in this old building does not have a neutral wire.
What code approved alternatives could I use to provide a neutral wire to the switch box so I could connect the timer switch for proper operation? Is is a violation of CEC if I tap a neutral wire off a receptacle on the same branch circuit to provide to the switch box? Or do I have to run a neutral wire all the way from neutral bus bar from the distribution panel?
Thank you.
Regards.
