    If I have a dc drive with a speed pot and the speed pot is located 100' away from the drive, what kind of wire would you reccomend to use for the speed pot? The speed pot is a 0-10V pot. Would #14 twisted pair be sufficient, or would you need shielded wire for noise attenuation? This motor is in an industrial area.

    I don't think you would need #14, as the current is very low in these things. I would think ordinary UTP communication cable (Cat 5) would do.

    Check what is used for similar control wiring, if there is any, in the plant.
