    Is it true you only need 1" clearance on the sides of IC (insulated type) pot lights, not the top?

    rule 30-906 states that "the recessed portion of every recessed luminaire marked type ic shall be permitted to be in contact with combustible or blanketed with thermal insulation"

    Rule 30-902
    states that type non ic shall be at least 13 mm from combustible material at every point other than the point of support and thermal insulation shall not be installed closer than 76 mm to the luminaire
