and here's another good one
for them people who lie to snack
but don't like the snacking idea
toasted soybeans (they're just as bad as popcorn.....)
cover two cups dried, rinsed soybeans with 6 cups water and let stand overnight. drain and dry on towel for 5 hours or until moisture is gone.
transfer to pan, dot with 1/4 cup butter (i use clarified butter, or EarthBalance, but most people aren't too keen on it unless on that particular diet, eh... ) toast at 350, stirring occassionally for 30-40 minutes or until golden.. transfer to paper towel and season..

Oh My Goodness Tracy, that would be so traumatic, I can't blame you for not wanting Wendys. Ariound here the only resturant that got in trouble was a Dairy Queen that is off the beaten path was shut down for health violations a while back.

I have a bad case of lazy-itis today so I have some hotdogs on to steam, and I'm headed to Wendys for a cup o' chili.
Place hot dog on bun, spoon Wendys chili over the top, add chopped onion, squirt of mustard and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Caramelized Meat Loaf
2 lbs ground beef,
1/4 cup ketchup,
1 tsp mustard,
2 tbs brown sugar,
1/2 cup of water,
1 pkg onion soup mix,
1 egg,
bread crumbs to make firm,
Topping: 1 cup brown sugar, 2tbs mustard & enough ketchup to make a paste.
Combine all ingredients (Except Topping) and shape into a loaf,
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, Drain any grease and add topping, continue to bake 15 minutes
Helpful tips: line your pan with aluminum foil & spray with pam...because the camamelized brown sugar is HARD to get off your pan when it cools.

I grew up with the traditional meatloaf covered in Ketchup, When a friend made this for a small dinner we went to, I could not stop bragging on how good this was.
I can't have it very often because of the sugar content, but when Julie makes it, we don't have much left over
