WOP stands for "With Out Passport", which comes from Ellis Island, when they were receiving immigrants, they'd give people coming in without their passports a stamp on a document that just had the initials "W.O.P"......back then it was shameful to be an illegal alien, so that's why it's considered derogatory

how it became exclusive to Italians, i have no idea, but as a person of fully Italian descent, i can tell you the term doesn't affect me at all, whatsoever *L

maybe some Italians would be offended, but *shrug* not me *L

yeh they're italians, this town's fulla them, the southside of town is called lil italy, cuz it's fulla wops, we call 'em that, they dun care, they call 'emselves that too, i love 'em, think the old men playin botchee until 1am r sooooooooooo cute *LOL*

Yup, I am italian too..well american, but my fam damily is italian, and pappi came through ellis Island.....and we call eachother Wops ...and it Dun offend any of us....that just us personally....my pappi, does that down in lil italy too...drinks apricot brandy with all the other lil ole guys..and the ole goat is 87 years old now!...whoa!...he farts dust
