ever since i lost a friend of mine in a drunk-driving accident (he was a passenger), i've been very anti-drink-n-drive
when my husband and i are out, only one of us drinks, or the one driving is allowed one drink at the beginning of whatever occasion it is, and that's it.......we both feel strongly about this topic
i'm glad there's a song like this out there......i never woulda known cuz i can't stand country *LOL* but i can't argue that it's well-written
thanks, genie

I've never heard that song, but here's the lyrics to an actually GOOD song on the same topic. If you can get by the Pearl Jam version, please do download/buy it.
Last kiss (George Waynan Cochran)
Oh where oh where can my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world
We were out on a date in my daddy's car
We hadn't driven very far
There in the road strait up there
A car was stalled the engine was dead
I couldn't stop so I swerved to the right
I'll never forget the sound that night
The screaming tires the busting glass
The painful scream that I heard last
Oh where oh where can my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world
When I woke up the rain was pouring down
There were people standing all around
Something warm flowing through my eyes
But somehow I found my baby that night
I lifted her head she looked at me and said
Hold me darling just a little while
I held her close I kissed her our last kiss
I found the love that I knew I had missed
Well now she's gone even though I hold her tight
I lost my love my life that night
Oh where oh where can my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world

Ok, I dont listen to country music or really give it a chance. But the other day, my mom, (Who will not allow me to change the channel when I ride in her truck) had this playing. I cried and got chills and it made me think allot. If you REALLY read the words and think about what it means, maybe it might help even one person. Please take this to heart and i hope this song touches you the way it touched me. AND if you have the chance i URGE you, to actualy listen to this song, because if you think the words of this song wont get you.....then you really should hear it with the music that goes with it.
"Flowers" By Billy yates
I should have took you dancing
A little candlelight romancing
With roses
But I was high up on a barstool
I was such a blind fool
Now I know it
I've been through a lot of changes since you left
It took losing you for me to find myself
Oh I wish that you could see me
Steady hands without the whiskey
You'd be so proud
I got a job down at the factory
A brand new suit for Sunday
I'm in church now
It's been one year since I sat behind a bar
I went by the junkyard, and they've still got our car
I still see you on your knees
Begging me not to drive
But I took away the keys
And made you climb inside
And I would take your place in this field of stones
If I only had the power
Look what it took
For me to finally bring you flowers
Oh, I'll take your place in this field of stones
If I only had the power
Look what it took
For me to finally bring you flowers
