Even as big as McMinnville is we are pretty limited on where to shop. If you want to shop elsewhere you usually have to drive to Salem which is about 30 miles away...or to Newberg which is about 15-20 miles away. It sucks...we keep wishing they would put different stores in here instead of more grocery stores. We have like 4 major grocery stores for crying out loud. The only real place to get most anything you need here is Wal-Mart.

Ok, I'm going to sound like one hell of a hypocrite here, but.... Other than all the probs I had over getting my butt chewed, my store does have it's good points. Sure the company is a bunch of asswhipes when it comes to treating people like John well, but so does any retail outfit I've worked for including Winco. Being a disabled Vet myself, I want you to know that I did workstudy at the Oregon Employment dept here in McMinnville for 6mos to a year, which probably doesn't mean jack for anyone not living in Oregon. However, My wages were paid by the U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Dept of Labor. Which means that I occupied a cubicle in the state office, but in actuality I worked for the federal Govt, and I am very familiar with the federal labor laws. Walmart screwed up when they fired you, the way I see it, you can claim discrimination based on the following: veterans status, your disability (ADA), possibly age, and gender just to name a few.... What does all this mean? It means Wal-mart is in deep shit if you get the right attorney to represent your case. Happy Hunting *grin*

Every place has its ups and downs and advantages and disadvantages but this is getting to be seemingly a corporate policy issue.

I am now telling friends do not shop at Walmart. Did you know that they also treat customers real bad ? They really do not want to help you find what you are searching for.

The one here is more about helping the customers find stuff. That is where the problems with the breaks are coming in. The employees spend their break time and then some helping the customers instead of being able to get to the back to get their break.
