Hello everyone just a lil update what has been going on in my life. As some of you know I got hurt at work by a fall over a year ago and messed up the right side of my body. Late December I had Knee Arthroscopy Surgery. When they did the surgery there was more damage to my knee than the Doctor first thought. I had a meniscal tear that the doc was able to repair during surgery and he also found out that the cartilage on the top and bottom of the knee has more less crumbled so I am rubbing bone on bone. The doc also shaved part of the bone so it wasn't so jagged and to relief some of the pain. I have been off work since surgery and going to physical therapy 3 times a week. Some days my leg swells to double in size and I have to use a cane to walk around. I was told I need a total knee replacement but the doc refuses to do this because I am too young, so he is trying to build up the muscles around the knee/bone area till I am older and the surgery can be preformed.

Back on the yuckie mode *L* I finally was able to ride a bike in therapy and was so dang excited. *Freedom* I could go outside and peddle with the wind in my hair........singing memories here.......*L* Wouldn't you know it some jerk stole my recumbrant bike that cost over a grand, the very next day. *sighs*

On a positive note, my son and his wife had their first child a little girl named Taylor Nichole in November. My daughter that moved to England to be with her husband are expecting their first child in late June, along with my grandson Mikey they will have a wonderful family.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Year so far and I think of you all often. Miss you more than I can express.

i'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your knee... physical therapy can be so... challenging at times.... *throws a rock at the asshole that stole your bike*... lol. bastard.

it sounds as though there is a lot of happiness going around as well, with your son and with your daughter... [img]smile.gif[/img] I guess that's the way with life, hmmm? the good and the bad times don't always seperate themselves... but if you have to have bad going on... at least the good brings you some joy to take your focus off of it... [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

i am so happy to hear that everything is working out well for your daughter and her husband... i know you were worried about the move... well, not worried, but you know what i mean... to have your daughter and grandson move so far away... *huggs*... i'm so glad that things are going well with them as a couple... obviously, since they are expecting a baby! [img]smile.gif[/img] i always LOVE hearing happy endings about long distance relationships... there are SO many that don't work out... it's always really nice when you can say that things are wonderful, and they are very happy.... i hope the therapy helps with your knee... it honestly did with mine, though i had NOTHING wrong with it in comparison to what is going on with you... it was through a work fall as well, though... damage to the sciatic nerve, and who really knows what else... lots of pulled muscles and misplaced... um. things. LOL. when i first started, my kneecap was sitting on the side of my leg... with the deep tissue ultrasound, the taping in place with super-tight tape, and the exercises... it never bothers me anymore... [img]smile.gif[/img] hm, unless i pull my back in some respect... then it tends to ache and wanna pull to the side the slightest bit and feel out of place... my doc said the same thing... the muscles around the knee had been injured, and refused to work correctly with one another, and had to be strengthened and retrained... i hope it works for you too... i really do... even SLIGHT pain in that area isn't the best feeling thing in the world... i hope that soon you are on the mend, and feeling better... *hugs you tons*....

[img]smile.gif[/img] i'm betting your daughter never dreamed 5 or 6 years ago that she would be living in england... married... and having another baby! things seem to happen when you least expect them... so i'm totally NOT expecting anything good to happen... therefore it's bound to! hehehehe... *HUGGGGS*....

things are actually going better since i got my health straightened out, and my sugar under control, allergies, etc... i'm hoping everything else will fall into place soon... [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

hello Everyone....yelling in the tin can and hearing the echo back (giggling) I hope you all are doing great and thinking spring is right around the corner.

I am going crazy here with the work comp injury, doc finally listened and did a x ray after I fell two times since my surgery. Workers comp had the lovely workers comp nurse go with me to this visit after I ended up in the ER from trying to ride a bike...will this nightmare ever end. shaking head....After the stand up x ray he found that the inner knee is bone on bone like a clam shell that opens up to the other part of the knee that has pushed the tibia now out of place. I can never do anything normally *L* so now he is back tracking and saying the only thing he can do is a full knee replacement or I will end up in a wheelchair in the near future....so on the spot the workers comp nurse ok'd this high tech knee/leg brace and told me I really dont have to have the surgery....unreal...Now to wait for the approval for this surgery......only took a year for the other one......sighs...Just a bit down and depressed, I was hoping to put this all behind me and move on with my life. Work has been a total jerk and my nerves are shot. I get off temp total disability to go back for a day and half to have my boss, tell me to use my vacation time to verify what the doctor wrote about being on light duty. Said heck with it and said I dont need the stress from this jerk and went to the docs to sit there for 45 minutes to have no one verify this I left saying just fax it to my work.....then my knee jammed riding the bike, thank goodness I was able to coast downhill home, lay the bike down to get off it and lay down and ice it but to no avail the ER room. So back on temp total disability again.....sighs more......You see florida work comp is a mess, they have private insurance that your employer pays for not a state agency and they can and do drive you insane. I found out from the doctor that they are now taking pictures and video taping me, its like go for it, I have nothing to hide...Dang you would think after the surgery and the x rays they would get off my back....so anyway.....I said if i have to wear this dang brace I am getting the print I want and paid 60 bucks more for the butterfly print *L* hey I have to laugh right.....hehehe....At least I wil be styling the new brace should be in by friday...

Hopefully !!!! the next time I post it will be upbeat and of good news.....dang I dont like being so down........tears....

[img]frown.gif[/img] *Hugggggs*... i hope things have gotten better since you checked in last.. it's very frustrating and hard to not be able to do all the things you want to do... then having someone hiding in the bushes to see whether or not you are REALLY telling the truth.... grrr. i know how that goes... same thing happened to my mom. After 10 years or so they are STILL fighting her disability.... and then for me to go visit... and see how more and more she is having trouble even being on her feet. grrr. makes me sick. No wonder people fake illnesses. if you are honest, they treat you like well... this. [img]frown.gif[/img] *hugggs some more*....

as for me, things are going reasonably well... i suppose. there's nothing i can actually object to... as always, i am just waiting for something better to happen. lol. I'm starting a job at home soon... extra work... hopefully. Then i can put away money to get my own house, rather than living in this apartment for another year.... it's a cute little place, but i'm tired of it... and i can't keep up with everything on my own with just one job that has refused to give us a raise in the last 3 years now... let me not get into THAT discussion, we'll be here all day. lol.

Anyway.... i am feeling reasonably well, and my sugar seems to be under control.. my allergy shots have been cut from once a week to once every two.. so things are looking up in those areas at least... life is much easier to deal with head-on when you don't feel like something the cat dragged in.. [img]wink.gif[/img]

Hey everyone *hugs and smiles*

Here is the update.....tick tick tick *L*

I am scheduled for total knee replacement on April 22, 2008. Sounds great....finally *L* nope nothing is ever simple in my life....Orthopedic Doctor said that unless my asthma gets under control prior they will not operate for I will aspirate on the table, and that he has to have my primary Doc clear me for surgery. Called primary Doc and he will not clear me for my lungs are scared from cleaning chemicals from a previous job. He said even if he could get me to pass the pulmonary test 2 weeks prior to surgery, there is no way he can say I will pass the day of surgery and make it off the table. So its like ok what are my options now...surgery and take a heck of a chance or no surgery and have the bones in my leg/knee continue to crumble and be totally disabled. Not too hot of choices, but I know things happen for a reason even though its hard right now to understand, after all that this stupid accident has put me through physically and emotionally.

On a plus not at least my new donjoy brace is pretty it was custom made and I ordered it with butterflies on it *L* hey a girl has to be styling no matter what.........hehehe.
