Next month, I'm attending a concert by a wonderful Canadian singer/pianist named Sarah Slean. She reminds me a little of Kate Bush. I can't wait!!!

I llove Kate Bush, and I will check out her music, right now I'm having trouble with my Windows media player. Please add your review after the show. Thanks for the link.

I love music, but there is not a lot going on in my area. I heard Godsmack played over in Indiana a couple of weeks ago. I have been supporting my local music scene recently.

Roger, I noticed some Sarah Slean clips on Youtube.

Sarah sounds like Kate Bush (to me anyway), and I love Kate as well. They have that "little girl sounding voice", if you will (at times anyway). Maybe others would disagree. Regardless, definitely unique!

I have loved music all my life, but have to admit I very, very seldom get excited over musicians from my homeland. The Canadian content I hear I generally dislike. It does nothing for me. I believe I have music from 2 Canadian musicians in my collection (3 now), and they aren't household names at all.

Sarah Slean is the greatest musician to come out of here in a long time, but maybe it is just a personal thing. To each their own.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thats what makes us unique. I usually search out artist that are unknown or (hopefully) on thier way up. I then force my friends to listen until they are sick of them...LOL

I can't remember the last time I listened to Radio (Yuck) or watched MTV or VH1, I usually search the internet or rely on friends reccomendations (like yours).

I just recieved a entertainment paper with some upcoming concerts in this area, they Include:

Evansville, In. December concerts @ Roberts Stadium
08 - Cheetah Girls w/Everlife
29 - WWE SmackDown & ECW present Supershow
30 - Hank Williams Jr. w/38 Special

St Louis, Mo December Concerts @ Pageant
05 LOS LONELY BOYS w/THE DAMNWELLs
08 Gov't Mule w/ DONAVON FRANKENREITER
13 IMOGEN HEAP w/LEVI WEAVER, KIDS BEYOND
14 ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA
Starring DWEEZIL ZAPPA w/ STEVE VAI, TERRY BOZZIO, NAPOLEON MURPHY BROCK and others
21 ALL AMERICAN REJECTS w/BOYS LIKE GIRLS
28 STYX

If Only I was rich, I'd be going to most of these shows

38 Special would put on a good show, I'm sure. I always loved "Caught Up In You", "Hold On Loosely", and other hits!

I would love to see the Zappa show. Steve Vai is wonderful, and I recall very well the names Bozzio and Murphy Brock from my Zappa days (I am regretting selling off my Zappa cd's--I had 25--but sometimes you need the cash).

If I had the money, I'd like to check out That Hank Jr and 38 Special. I have seen both bands several times seprately and Think it would make a great show.

I really don't know much about Zappa, other than Valley Girl and Don't Eat The Yellow Snow, But I do like Vai, It would be a good learning experince to see Dewizel doing his Daddy's Songs.

I can also relate to having to sell off my music. I have several thousand Lps left, but over the years I have had to sell off some of the more rare pieces and when I left California I sold several hundred Cd's to finance my excape

I'm relly not into the Arena or Stadium concerts anymore (Especially afdter paying over $150. to see the Rolling Stones from the nosebleed section of the Rose Bowl), but I have been checking out some of the local clubs, and reuniting with friends from the past.

Sis, I have some <s>bootleg</s> live tapes from Cains. Thanks for the link.
