I just found out that the fairytales that I was told as a kid are not the same ones that Mothers are now telling their Daughters.

Once upon a time
~~~~~~~~
in a land far away,
~~~~~~~~
a beautiful, independent,
self-assured princess
~~~~~~~~
happened upon a frog as she sat
contemplating ecological issues
on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow
near her castle.
~~~~~~~~
The frog hopped into the princess' lap
and said: "Elegant Lady,
I was once a handsome prince,
until an evil witch cast a spell upon me.
~~~~~~~~
One kiss from you, however,
and I will turn back
into the dapper, young prince that I am
~~~~~~~~
and then, my sweet, we can marry
~~~~~~~~
and set up housekeeping
in my castle
~~~~~~~~
with my mother,
~~~~~~~~
where you can
prepare my meals,
~~~~~~~~
clean my clothes, bear my children,
~~~~~~~~
and forever feel
grateful and happy doing so. "
~~ ~~~~~~
That night,
~~~~~~~~
as the princess dined sumptuously
~~~~~~~~
on lightly sauteed frog legs
~~~~~~~~
seasoned in a white wine
~~~~~~~
and onion cream sauce,
~~~~~~~~
she chuckled and thought to herself:
~~~~~~~~
I don't fuckin' think so.
HAHAHA...Have either of you eaten frog legs???
I had them once years ago (I was 12)had more fun pulling the tendon, watching the leg jerk than I did eating them.
I just had smoked frog legs about 2 weeks ago, when I went to the city with my brother. They served them with a sweet & spicey dip (I think it was horseradish with a sweet bar-b-que sauce)
That sounds good...I haven't had them in years but if I had them again, something like that sounds more appetizing!!!
Frog legs aren't bad, but I think they are sorta bland tasting (That dip had a wonderful flavor)
One of the few things I have tried and really didn't care for was escargo. I had them years ago at a really nice place in Houston, they were cooked in a garlic & butter sauce on top of mushroom caps.
