The Lingerie Bowl (and now league)

As most of you know, at the end of January, every year, the NFL has the Super Bowl (yes, this first part is mainly for our australian based fans). It is the final game of the season to determine the #1 team that year.

Anyways, since the beginning of the Super Bowl, the halftime show has always been "supposedly" a "big deal". IT SUCKS!!!! every year, it's boring, pointless, sometimes it seems unrehearsed and thrown together at the last minute. (well, except for last year with the whole janet jackson expsoing her nipple on live national TV).

anyways, many other networks have tried to draw fans to their networks during halftime to get a hold on some of the 80+million people watching the Super Bowl (that is actually a guess of the number who watch). In year's past, MTV tried to do a special Celebrity Death Match episode. I think Fox tried to do a Simpsons episode, and i know other networks have tried similar things.

Then came 2003. The Lingerie Bowl was introduced to the world and it was simple as this. Two teams, 7 players to each team, all busty female models, weaing nothing but lingerie, shoulder pads and a helmet. Full contact American Football. Simple as that. You pay 19.95 for pay per view and you get to watch them play a game during halftime.

Apparently, they had good results from that because they have done it every year since then, and I believe they now have a league of four teams. I personally don't get it, but....hey..whatever
