a runner is a person that 'runs' the food to the
tables. i'm sure you've seen them before. i think
many of the larger restaurants have them as well.
daniel does both.... but he is either a waiter
or runner depending on what position he is
signed up for that day.
sometimes runners make more money than waiters
and vice versa... and runners (from what i hear)
don't really have to put up with customer's shit
as much.
and the contest was just a little poke to see
which one of us (you or me) would actually
witness daniel waiting tables first.

sounds like a fun contest to me...how about the winner getting a free meal from market place compliments of daniel....i think that seems like a fair prize. of course, this "free meal" would include dinner for two. myself and a date, if i win, and of course yourself and a date....this should go for anyone visiting this board....if they see daniel waiting a table...they win the contest, and they get a free meal for themselves and a date...this will include one appetizer...two entrees, two drinks, and one dessert....tip will not be included in the "free meal"....
on your mark

ok deal.
but to verify... you must scan your receipt.
this will not only determine who was first...
but also determine whether or not daniel was
your server... since technically... it doesn't
count if he is a runner that day/night.

yeah, ok. i will buy the meal as long as the tip covers the cost of the meal with at least $10 left over. otherwise, pay for it yourselves, you cheap bastards!!!!
