some people wanna know these kinds of things
...but after receiving complaints about not sharing information, I will post about my recent procedure.
As some of you may or may not know, since i was about 14 years old, I have not been able to swallow certain foods. Steak in general, typically turkey, and sometimes ham. As well as bread, rice, and some pasta on occassion. Well, I never understood this, and everyone always said it was because I didn't chew my food enough. I knew I chew my food enough, because I made sure I did, I didn't really enjoy throwing up food, when I couldnt' get it down the throat...
So finally I went to the doctor about it, he referred me to a GI specialist (his name was not Joe...i've already heard that joke). he suggested they do an EGD on me (don't ask me what it stands for). basically, they put me to sleep, and ran a big long tube down my throat with a camera so the doc could take a look around. This happened on Thursday, and all is well. My throat was a little sore, but nothing to cry about it. They did find a stricture, which is where my esophagus was about 2/3 the size it should have been, so they stuck a balloon down there, and blew it up, which opened up my throat the way it should be.
As I said, everything went as planned, and today, after over 10 years, I finally ate my first whole steak without having to throw up half of it, when it got stuck....

I think it's hilarious that people tried to tell you to chew more..
I bet you can deep throat with the best of them now...
i think it's even more funny that this is kind of an "I told you so" post.
Many people *looks around for them because it sure wasn't me* said you were making it up.
HAHAHAHAHA

to test that, the only way i knew how was to stick my finger down my throat....for a while, i was able to stick my finger down my throat, and feel the inside of it....it was pretty weird
your..."finger"...
HAHAHAHAHHA!!!
Why was your throat narrow?Do you whistle when you talk as a result of this?
no...it wasn't that narrow....the doctor said it was probably genetic that caused the narrowing of the throat.
it was just narrow enough to cause problems swallowing certain foods....that's it
