In the US, we usually call frozen treats on sticks "popsicles". 'Lollies' is usually short for "Lolly-Pop", a hard-candy sucker on the end of a stick.
I wouldn't mind if there were bleeding Lollies on this side of the pond... [img]wink.gif[/img]

I have noticed this is in a long line of products that Americans "over word" the meaning of [img]smile.gif[/img]
some examples
speckle = filler (7/6)
french fries = chips (11/5)
chips = crisps (5/6) you win one [img]smile.gif[/img]
diapers = nappys (7/6)
popsicle = lolly (8/5)
U.S.A. = U.K. (3/2)
