Diablo II-answering stinnger's question

Yeah, I've been good to my partner (Paige is the name they gave her when I completed the quest that gave her to me). She seems to come with the ability to inflict cold on monsters, plus the bow I gave her poisons them. I've made sure to give her good armor, too. I take care of my women.

I will definitely have to try the cow level when I'm a much stronger character (you know, I knew something was up with all these cows everywhere).

Paige is cool, that frost effect rules! It's a must-have for a lot of reasons. And Paige doesn't steal your XP! You get it! I checked!

It's just a matter of personal opinion, like playing Doom in 'god mode' all the time. Some people prefer it, others hate it. I'd just rather 'earn' my goodies, rather than type DF=200 and get it that way... With Doom some levels were so hard, you almost had to "god mode" it, but Diablo is usually pretty easy (except for that one boss, and Diablo himself).

You can give armor (just body and head) to her, plus a weapon. So, you can help improve your helper but don't ahve to spend too much money on him/her.

I definitely like Paige's cold effect on enemies.

Good to know she doesn't take any of my experience points away. It just seems to take longer to move up a level. I'm at level 17 right now.

Yeah, sorry, it is an expansion thing. One of the nice benefits of the expansion. I highly recommend getting it if you can. The graphics are much improved (you can play in 800X600 resolution now), there's more items, more monsters, 2 new characters, a larger private stash, more gold you can have, plus a whole new Act.

I have a question for people: Sometimes after killing a champion or other tough creature, I get these two arrows showing up in the upper right corner. They stay up there a little while, then change to pink/red, then eventually fade. What are they? Are they some kind of compass? I can't figure it out.

I don't get to BattleNet much, phone line connection and all...

I stand corrected! (sort of!) In regular DII your helper just gives you his/her experience. But in the Expansion he/she shares with you & vice versa.

Just adding a couple of items makes them handy little tanks, doesn't it?
