just thought I'd make a post like everyone else to announce that I almost have 100!!! And, speaking of beer, I got fired from the saucer...it's kind of a long story, if anyone's interested, I'll write about it.

well, you are at 102, and i want to know what happened, last i heard, you were really enjoying the job.
Right you are, DJ...I was very happy with my job. And Alison, this is the first mention I've made about it to anybody but Wes (who was with me when it happened).
Here goes....I asked off to go see my dad in Missouri 2 weeks and 3 days in advance. The day I requested off, the manager had already made the schedule. However, he did not give me the Saturday I needed off. I told him I wouldn't be here. He said, "it's cool, just find another girl to work for you." I said fine. Well, there was an ON CALL girl for the night I needed off. I told her 2 weeks and 3 days in advance to plan on working that night because I would be gone. She said, "Oh, but I already have plans...I'm not going to be able to." I'm thinking, "but you're on call...you have to."
OK, no big deal, I'll just ask another girl. There was only 1 other girl that could have worked for me that wasn't already scheduled. I asked her. She said, "Well, that would make me a double, and I really don't want to give up my Saturday." Continuing to ask this one girl went on for about a week. She continued to act as if it was a huge deal. So, I told the same manager a week later that none of the girls wanted to work for me, what should I do. He says, "well, you're just gonna get written up." Which I think is sorry anyway because it should be the on call girl getting in trouble.
Well, come to find out another girl that was going to take vacation didn't end up going, so she might could have worked for me. I ask....she says no. So, the Saturday comes.
I call in and say, well, I'm not gonna make it. The manager says if you don't come in tonight don't worry about coming back. I say, "Shut up." He says, "No, really. You missed a scheduled work day, that's an automatic fire." I say, "Really?" "Yep." "Well, ok." and that was the end of my saucer career. What stinks is I was the on call girl for Wed. one of the girls got too drunk to work and called in, I had to work for her...she didn't get fired. I have never called in, I've never been late, never been written up. This was the first thing I have ever done "wrong" there.
So, we go there last night. Come to find out, the girl that didn't take the vacation time was supposed to call me and tell me she could work for me...she didn't call. She worked and I got fired.
I'm pissed off about the whole thing, but apparently something is way wrong with that manager. I talked to a few girls last night who said he's just kind of gone crazy and has threatened to fire another girl over a bad email someone sent in about her. I don't know....it's all really bunk. that IS bullshit. and i agree that the on-call
girl should have been reprimanded... especially
since you gave fair warning of your absence.
i don't think i woulda told the manager 'fine'
after he told me to not bother coming back...
i think i woulda told him to find a lawyer.
you should sue....and then share the money with all of us....
seriously...that's what wes said...and would you guys do anything about this if you were me?

the problem is....
from what i understand, an employer in arkansas
can freely fire an individual without just cause.
at least, this is what was tossed in my face
when i threatened leaving FRIDAYS... *trump*.
