Late to work

I got in trouble today (for the second time) for being late to work in the mornings. I usually get there around 8:30-8:45. They ask us to be there around 8:00-8:15. What pisses me off about this is that tonight they expected me to work late because I have a million things to get done by tomorrow, but I can't come to work 15 minutes late. If I'm expected to stay late all the time, piss on coming in right on time every morning.

Besides that, my job does not require me to be in right at 8. I don't have to deal with anyone, most of my deadlines are before lunch or by end of day.

I'm starting to hate going to work just because of the look of disappointment when I roll in at 8:35. It starts my day off bad and therefore, I show no enthusiasm while on the job. I need a job where I can come in at 9:00 or 10:00 and work till like 7:00 pm or something. That would be ideal.

i can totally relate....

i was coming in at around 9:00 or 9:30 or so....

well, i interact with customers maybe once a week, and that is in the afternoons....

if i ever had to interact with a customer (if for some reason, they were beta testing some software at 8:00 in the morning), i would always be here, may times, before 8:00...

i was asked to get here earlier though, which i actually started doing.....

since my new program starting getting used full time here at work though, i have had to be here at 8:00 to open things up, and make sure nothing happens (we open at 8:00) when people are using it. but then, i have to be here after we close so that i can help do the accounting, and posting of transactions. that typically does not get done until 6:00 at the earliest, and like last night, i didn't leave until 10:00.....i don't like, i don't like it one bit.

You're right...The thing is...I like the work I do, but I hate people riding my ass and being stupid about meaningless shit. However, I stand my my statements...I enjoy my work but hate the responsibility.

BTW...just to solidify how much responsibility sucks...today (Saturday) I had to work 7 hours...tomorrow, I'll have to work again. I've not had a weekend. [img]graemlins/thumbs_down.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thumbs_down.gif[/img]

Quit your job...start your own company...and hire employees that have the same work ethic as yourself.That should cure all your problems
