it's great! you get to pick two characters and a kart (different characters drive different types of karts). every time you win the gold, you unlock some hidden thing, which is usually a new kart, but i have also opened up toad and some female toad, a new battle map, and the special cup. i have yet to win gold in the star cup and special cup in the 150cc, but i will soon and if i get anything cool i will give you an update.

and if you were wondering, yes, it is pretty much exactly like the old ones, just with different tracks and some new characters.
