    Search
    Once again search doesn't work.

Getting the following error on every attempted search now:

    searchd error: per-query max_matches=3000 out of bounds (per-server max_matches=500)

It doesn't matter if I search for posts or threads, it doesn't matter how many search terms are used, and it doesn't matter if it's a regular or advanced search. We're going on 2-3 years of the search function having some sort of problem (the previous being that search started 6 months in the past, leaving out the most recent posts). At some point you need to have an upgrade that actually makes things better.

Good to see that once again something as basic as a working search function, something I've never seen not work on any message board other than Hostboard, is clearly not a priority and seems to actually be beyond the ability of whomever is coding this thing. If you're not competent enough to have a working search function then I better not get a message from you guys with your hands out looking for a donation.

The error you received came up just as we were finishing the last bit of configurations to the search system. Search is running via Sphinx integration and has nothing to do with the development of the Hostboard Control Panel as it is entirely separate and coded by someone else. While the integration was always there, we did have issues with compiling Sphinx with PHP and getting the CRON to properly run and index the database tables accordingly on our old server. The search feature is not your "A" typical system but is much faster, takes less resources and is more accurate. Since our previous developer had left after many months of empty promises, we had to first find and then hire an outside development company to not only fix the search mechanism but also move us to a new host and some larger servers. The current developer is 100% on top of the Hostboard Control Panel and in fact it is about to undergo a code release that is larger then the level of its initial concept in terms of size.
