Ever shot the Moon? What exposure did you use?
Was it a special occasion or for a film project?
I didn't shoot the moon, but I did try filming a lightning storm in Kodachrome...was a failure...you can see the lightning flashes on the film, but they aren't nearly as spectacular as they were in person..very dark and muted...Kodachrome was the only film I had on hand at the time, and this was before the age of camcorders. I kept the film, I should look at it again this weekend for fun.
One second time-exposures would have produced spectacular results, even with Kodachrome 40.
My camera will do single and multi-frame shots at whatever interval you set, but I have never been able to find out how to do exposure shots where you can keep the shutter open for a second on an individual frame...I suppose this is a feature the camera has to have, and no way to override it, huh?
Yeah, I doubt if any Super-8 camera can be modified to do time-exposure.
Many Nizos have the time-exposure feature. Some Eumigs do. Bauer Royal-C cameras have the time-exposure feature.
I've forgotten what other brands have the feature.
Did anyone shoot the Lunar Eclipse?
I kept hearing it was going to be 1:00 am on May 16th EST, which meant May 15th West Coast, or so I finally realized as I was driving and realized I was watching a lunar eclipse.
I came home and set up my 3-chip 750 line Hitachi Video Camera with a doubler on it and videotaped the
uneclipsing of the moon.
I think it took somewhere between 30 minutes to 45 minutes for that to occur. Does anybody know what the ideal exposure is for shooting the moon with Kodachrome 40?
