I have confirmed that the two Altec Lansing Duplex 604 speakers in my basement are the very first version, based on the address on the inside label. They belonged to the original owner of my house (I am the second), who was one of the recording pioneers in the film industry and had his studio in the basement. I have been hanging onto the speakers for 14 years because they seemed intertwined with the history of this old castle in the Hollywood Hills. But I now feel they should be appreciated by an audiophile who recognizes their true worth. Any suggestions on how to go about selling them, where to sell them, or know anyone who may be interested?
