Swedish ... porn?

Last year, me and a friend visited London for a few days. The night before our journey home we found ourselves sitting in a pub by the Thames, trying our best to communicate with some *local natives*. When we told them we were Swedish, they told us that the first thing that pops into their heads when they think of Sweden is PORN! Swedish porn.
Now, I'm just wondering if this is the common view on our country ... cause I don't believe we produce a significant amount of porn at all.

I've watched enough American sit-coms to tell you all about their Scandinavian stereotypes (Ohhh, that adorable little country with the cuckoo clocks, chocolate and cheese!), but are they the same in the UK?

The stereotype is that the Scandinavians are a lot more liberal about sex. Simple as that.

American sit-coms? Come on, look at the Brits in them? Cock-er-ney accents, suits, side-parted hair, an umbrella/walking cane and a stiff upper lip! And I'd rather Britain was associated with making loads of porn than bloody romantic comedies!

right, to be honest, first thing that comes into mind for me when i hear Sweden is porn too, but i think its mainly because Sweedish Porn is a common phrase between my friends and I.

I've never been to Sweden, broaden my horizons? I beleive there's a high suicide rate and the northern areas are pretty dark this time of year.
