Anybody know anything about this place?
i went there back in 83 Steve went there too. what is it you would like to know? personally i would look at going to LAMA
I just want to see how the programs are their. My friend is going their for some one year encore program because he knows Fred Dinkins. I want to see if it was a good overall percussion school. I'm also looking at UNT or maybe even LAMI. I just want to get the best education for the buck.
IMO, MI went down hill a few years ago, LAMA is the best bang for the money. At the time i went, Joe Porcaro and Ralph Humphrey were the head of perc department, with Efrain Toro, Alan Vavrin, Maria Martinez, Gary Hess, Eddie Roscetti and Steve Houghton to name a few.
I went to MI 1989-90 and that was a fantastic time and place,
but from what i heard i have to agre that it?s not
the best place any more. (From former teachers and students)

Hi guys I just signed up to this great board! I live in LA, I can tell you...do not go to MI. Its a total joke now. its like a school about Karaoke (however you spell that) full of japanese rih kids who just want to make pop videos. hahaha
I gues there are some good players left on the staff of PIT but the school itself is totaly lame!! Go top LAMA! Joe Po and Ralf are great teachers and human beings.
all the best
