what film should i use

i am just getting into super 8 and i am mainly ganno be shooting snowboarding. i am also transfering my film to video by projecting it. so what film stock should i be using?

Shoot some tests of all the films first. Get a roll of each and try to get them in the same lighting that you will be shooting uder and then over and under expose them. Then you will know what each stock looks like and how it performs.

I mean maybeyou like it and that's fine or maybe you've got some secret process that I don't know about where you can avoid hotspots and other video distortions but I reccommend having that footage professionally tranferred to Mini DV so that you can edit on your PC or MAC. Look it's not that expensive, and besides you're paying all that money for the film and developing anyway- I'm just telling you this because I've tried so many times to transfer film to video myself and it seemed like no matter what I did (even bought a new miniDV camera to capture the projection with and one of those transfer gadgets) and it just looked so crappy. Most places that develop the film will also transfer it for you at a discount since you had them do it all.

FILM- use Kodachrome 40, unless you particularily
like lots of grain. Yes this is a slower speed film which means you'll need lots of light but that's not a problem when your outside even when it's cloudy. K40 is sold everywhere Super8mm film is sold and it's the highest quality COLOR film for super8.

I don't think that the discussion is about transfer methods. Whilst you and I may know that projecting off a wall is nasty looking. Perhaps it gives the effect that this person desires...

The question is about what ilm to choose. That should always be left to testing.

for what i am doing projecting is fine. it will work for me as of now but if i want some of the roles professionally transfered then i will do it. its not like i have to project everything if i have good shots on one role i will get it professionally done.
