Does anyone have any MP3s of this band or City Kiddz (I have the Generation Love CD)

'Circus Maximus' demo
'Circus Maximus' my mix. I found myself working
at the studio they recorded it at, so I grabbed
the reels and remixed it for the craic. My mix is
pissy, unmastered bollox.

'Flytime' (their first) demo.

Live in Aberdare video. One camera, crap sound,
good laugh, early days, Stacy still going through
his nasally Dokkenesque phase. (Like Rag Dollz
@ The Marquee, I did attend the gig, and can be
spotted on it. I attended both gigs w/Simon Colliers,
the then guitarist in my first band, Toxik Toyz.
Simon left the 'Toyz to join Tragic Love Company,
who quickly changed their name to Stereophonics,
of course. Collz only played one gig [as rhythm
guitarist] with TLC (Aberdare Railway Club)
before being [demoted, in my opinion] to Kelly's
guitar tech. I bootlegged the gig but I doubt the
tape's contents are worth much.)

Rich Bitch briefly changed their name to Ultra 21,
but then Nintendo came along and scuppered that.
They may have recorded under that name though.

'Circus Maximus' is a great demo. Rich Bitch were
really tight at that point, and it should have
sealed a deal, but, alas, it never happened. Shame.

I would be interested in the Rag Dollz Stuff (Both the video & Demo) Have you put these on DVD/Cd yet? Also the same with the Rich Bitch 'Circus Maximus' demo & Live in Aberdare Video?

videos digitized soon enough. I'm currently flat-
hunting, though, so everything's packed up.

I'll have hopefully moved in a week or so.

Marky - 'Leave Me Alone' etc. is the first demo.

Re Rag Dolls video: it's probably best you watch
it as opposed to just listening to the audio,
because the cameraman (being only one him) is running
around all over the place, so the audio's a bit
variable.

Re Sinful Kixx: I'm sure I've got a copy of the
CD somewhere. It was a demo album in the sense
that it's everything a pro album is except it
wasn't released via a record contract. You might
be interested in remixing the Ratpack CD at some
point.

Andii Vamp's copies of what I got should be pretty
decent quality too, he says incase it takes me
longer than expected to move. [img]wink.gif[/img]

The Ratpack stuff (tape demos converted to mp3)
is crying out for remastering, because I only had
limited equipment at the time, so you'll no doubt
have some fun with it. Maybe, when you're finished,
I'll design some fresh gfx and re-release it. [img]graemlins/wonder.gif[/img]

Some of it is more worthy of it than others, trust
me. People loved, for example, 'Summertime Child'
and its 'na-na-na' and cowbell cobblers. I hated
it. I thought it was prosaic, turgid-rock. But,
everyone else loved it, so whaddya' gonna do?

Funny (for the wrong reasons) anecdote of 'SC'.
Whilst we were recording it, I picked up a copy
of the (marvellous) 'Making Music' mag, and in
the issue I picked up, it listed a 'Top 10 Hazards
of Recording Demos'.

Coming in at number 5(?) was:

- 'Be careful of eager engineers who like to
dabble with the tracks whilst your away, by laying
down music tracks they think will "improve" the
song.'

I laughed at this until the following morning, when
we turned up to mix 'SC'.

The engineer says: 'Check this out guys. Whilst
you away, I put some keyboard chords over the
intro few bars.'

The problem I had, aside from not liking the song
anyway, was we were never [during the entire record-
ing] tuned to true pitch, we were slightly flat,
but the keyboard is, of course, so it all sounds
incongrously sharp. For some godforsaken reason,
it stayed in the mix, so you can still hear it
if you listen carefully.

SORRY DARREN BUT "SUMMERTIME CHILD" IS MY ABSOLUTE AND MOST FAVE RATPACK SONG!!! HA HA HA!!! AND WHAT MAKES MY OPINION STRONGER IS I STILL KEEP IT 10 YEARS AFTER!!! LOL!!!
